With his administration’s continuous infrastructure development of every area of the state’s economy, Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has maintained his reputation as an inventive leader who produces measurable outcomes, earning him recognition from both parties. As stated by the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, Soludo’s “miracles and miracles of performance,” in his road infrastructure and development initiatives, are offering “lessons” for national development.

Christian Aburime, the governor’s chief press secretary, claims that the governor’s performance offers a compelling blueprint for governance that prioritises progress over politics. Governor Soludo, speaking on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, reaffirmed the importance of federal-state cooperation at the opening of the 17.5 km dual carriageway access road to the Second Niger Bridge.
This project is essential to achieving the bridge’s full economic potential and is something he has demonstrated by investing more than N150 billion of the state’s resources in federal roads. Along with the governor’s accomplishments in security, education, healthcare, and fiscal responsibility, Aburime claims that this proactive approach has sped up progress on 18 federal road projects in Anambra, including the strategic dualisation of the Enugu-Onitsha Motorway, which was praised by Engr. Umahi, a prominent ally of President Tinubu and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
He went on to say that Governor Soludo’s creative strategy for battling insecurity is demonstrated by the “Udo Ga-Achi” (Peace will reign) program, which has brought stability back to Anambra. “His commitment to sustainable development is further demonstrated by his administration’s fiscal prudence, which was demonstrated in the building of a new Government House, Solution Fun City, Ekwulobia flyover, and other signature projects without putting the state in debt.”
Noting that “Governor Soludo’s ability to forge strategic partnerships across party lines is remarkable in an era of divisive partisanship.” Umahi added that President Tinubu’s APC and Soludo’s All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have progressive values in common, allowing for cooperative governance that goes beyond political rivalry.
Aburime also cites Umahi’s remarks, in which the minister said that the cooperation between Soludo and the federal government is not only noteworthy but also very admirable since it demonstrates that Governor Soludo puts development ahead of ideology or small-time politics, which is uncommon in Nigerian politics.
The overwhelming support from federal leaders, organisations, religious leaders, and local stakeholders, he said, unquestionably indicates a clear mandate for Governor Soludo’s reelection in 2025. Umahi’s assertion that “no opposition can stand up to him” further demonstrates the public’s faith in Soludo’s leadership. Does anyone in Anambra still want a clear assurance that there won’t be a vacancy in Awka in 2025, given the support of a minister from the ruling APC party? He asked in a pretty rhetorical manner.
