honours Women’s History Month with its 5 for 5 promotion. In the women’s month draw of the Wema Bank 5 for 5 Promo, Wema Bank, Nigeria’s most innovative bank and the forerunner of Africa’s first entirely digital bank, ALAT, has distributed a total of N11,000,000 to 131 women throughout Nigeria, further solidifying its position as a pro-women and inclusion-driven bank.
Thank you for visiting The Vestigator, don't forget to share!
The eagerly awaited draw was held in Aba, Nigeria, on Friday, March 21, 2025. The 5 for 5 Promotion was first offered by Wema Bank in 2021 as a special way to thank its patrons for their enthusiastic support of the company, its goods, and services. With a N135,000,000 cash reward for season 4, the 5 for 5 Promo returned larger than ever after giving out over N150,000,000 to 2,378 Nigerians across the country’s six geopolitical zones over the course of three seasons.
Wema Bank has paid out more than N50,000,000 to its clients through daily, weekly, and monthly draws since the season began in October 2024. The Bank made a kind move by awarding the entire N11,000,000 cash prize to an all-female pool of winners for the fifth monthly draw in March.
OGECHUKWU PATIENCE ANI from Aba, where the draw was held, VANESSA CHIAMAKA OGBONNA from Lagos, and MUBARAKAHT ABISOLA ALOWONLE from Bodija were among the 131 winners of the Wema Bank 5 for 5 Promo Women’s month draw. Each of them received N1,000,000 in prize money. Other winners were 80 people who earned N25,000 apiece, 40 ladies who won N100,000 each, and 8 individual domiciliary account holders who won N250,000 each.
As the Women’s Month draw comes to a close, Nigerian women from all over the nation are becoming more financially independent. Wema Bank’s MD/CEO, Moruf Oseni (FCIB), congratulated the fortunate winners and reaffirmed the Bank’s dedication to enabling women to succeed in all facets of their lives.
In his opinion, The principle of empowerment served as the foundation for Wema Bank. We have continued this tradition since 1945 by empowering our people with the means to prosper and advocating for financial inclusion for Nigeria’s indigenous population. However, this trip hasn’t been one-size-fits-all for us.
Understanding the gender equality gap, we have made a conscious effort to provide women with opportunities that are specifically targeted to them through our women-focused offering, SARA by Wema, and our extensive array of programs and solutions that are specifically tailored to women. This Women’s History Month, we have only used the 5 for 5 promotion as an additional means of helping our women. Impact is our top priority, and we are thrilled to have made Nigerian ladies from all around the nation smile.
For us, that is the joy. “I want to use this opportunity to congratulate the 131 ladies who won and to express my gratitude for selecting Wema Bank and for continuing to rely on our services. It is not something we take for granted. We have worked tirelessly for the past 80 years to provide the highest calibre of impactful banking to the Nigerian people, and I firmly declare that we will never give up on giving each and every Wema Bank customer a satisfying, empowering, and gratifying banking experience,” Oseni said.
Wema Bank continues to demonstrate that it is a financial institution that is genuinely dedicated to empowering women through its large celebration of International Women’s Day, its distribution of N11,000,000 to women in the 5 for 5 Promo, its disbursement of billions of Naira in loans and financial support, and its provision of market access for women, among other deliberate acts of impact.
Both new and current Wema Bank clients are eligible to participate in the Wema Bank 5 for 5 promotion. By fulfilling the minimal conditions of funding their Wema Bank/ALAT accounts and engaging in active transactions, any Nigerian, regardless of location, can be eligible to take part.
