As they host Godwin Louis and Jhony Keys from Berklee College of Music, Saxophone Hub & Vital Edge hosted two eminent Berklee College of Music instructors, Godwin Louis and Jhony Keys, at the opulent Hotel on Victoria Island in Lagos in an effort to further promote jazz music culture. The August event, which was hosted by Ambassador Afolabi Oke (Ambassador of the African Union 6th Region to Nigeria, ECOWAS), highlights the dedication to developing talent, producing champions, and changing the face of African music.
He revealed that the occasion is a turning point for African music’s future since the world is starting to appreciate how amazing our rhythm, sound, and storytelling are, and collaborations like these open doors to international recognition and relationships.
Godwin Louis, a saxophonist, instructor, and composer who is nominated for a Grammy, believes that jazz music will gain popularity through a calculated push because Black people have exceptional musical potential. He remarked, “I am astounded by the development of the children at the Saxophone Hub and their degree of musical comprehension; the world market is waiting for these emerging gems.”
Jerry Omole, the managing director and CEO of Saxophone Hub, reiterated that the organisation was founded to assist in the development of future generations of musicians who will not only become experts in their trade but also take the African sound and spirit to the next level on a worldwide scale.

It is important to remember that Saxophone Hub has a long-standing partnership with Bennie Wallace’s Backcountry Jazz Initiatives, which offers scholarships to young saxophonists and Berklee College of Music students who are among the best musicians.
