Recent Brila FM Fraud: Babafemi Raji’s Deceitful Apology Is Denounced

Supporters of the multi-million-naira fraud and cyberbullying cases involving some former Brila FM employees, especially Mr. Babafemi Raji, also known as Topmost Striker, have denounced his phoney public apology for the planned cyberbullying and social media attacks that were intended to damage the media group’s reputation and that of its founder, Dr. Larry Izamoje, who was also his former mentor and boss.

Babafemi Raji was recently detained and is currently free on bail in relation to a five-year-long alleged fraud of over N150 million naira involving former employees of the media firm. Engr. Victor Sam Mpong Akakan, the former manager of Brila in Port Harcourt, and Ekerete Sunday, the company’s former chief accountant, were also detained for their involvement in illegal activities.

Our sources claim that all of the defendants have acknowledged their guilt and are negotiating possible out-of-court settlements in order to avoid being prosecuted. Babafemi Raji’s situation has been especially concerning because he tried to hide his conduct by starting a social media campaign against Dr. Larry Izamoje with the goal of painting him as a cruel and stunting leader.

This took place prior to the disclosure that Raji was a target of the anti-fraud security agency due to his suspected involvement in a well-documented fraud operation involving the theft of more than 150 million naira. He had posted disparaging remarks and made aspersions prior to his arrest, which prompted others to make hostile but ignorant statements about his former employer.

Interestingly, he is now attempting to portray himself as truthful by making what he describes as a “retraction and apology for everything.” It is unclear to observers of the Brila fraud case what Babafemi Raji is withdrawing or apologising for.

One astute observer noted that in order to show that he truly regrets his conduct, wouldn’t it have been more persuasive for him to be specific about what he is retracting? It’s possible that Mr. Raji, also known as Topmost Striker, is still trying to deceive the public and his supporters. If not, he need to understand that someone who wants equity ought to have spotless credentials.
