In order to usher in the lesser Hajj in the Holy Land of Mecca at the end of Ramadan, the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), led by Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, fnli, HCFSP, joins forces with Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and around the world during the ongoing fast. Starting today, the first day of the month of Ramadan, it is mandatory for all Muslim faithful people in Nigeria and around the world to follow the Ramadan period.

The goal of Ramadan is to instill a constant awe of Allah, the Almighty, who is the Merciful and the Beneficiary of all people. As taught and exemplified by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (peace be unto Him) while on earth doing good, it is also a solemn time for us to ask for forgiveness of our sins, our loved ones plead for mercy and forgiveness for our leaders in positions of authority, and for one another regardless of tribe, colour, descent, or religious affiliation.
In order for Muslims to receive the best from the Almighty God during and after the Ramadan exercise—which, of course, will give every Muslim a sigh of relief, happiness, true joy, and forgiveness from God Almighty before the Eid-Fitar feast—Prince Adewale Adeyanju, the country’s seasoned maritime numero uno labour leader, Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and Vice President Global of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) urged them to be exemplary in their beh Dr. Adeyanju fervently prays that this year’s Ramadan will be a great success with sincere repentance of our sins.
He also warns all Muslims to be brave and cheerful because the Almighty Allah is merciful, loving, and compassionate, and as such, he will reward our prayers whenever we ask for forgiveness.
