The extensive renovation has brought contemporary educational materials to the neighbourhood and changed the learning environment for 52 teachers and 720 pupils. The renovation’s focal point is a state-of-the-art computer lab with twenty cutting-edge computer systems and twenty-five workstations, setting up pupils to acquire the digital abilities they’ll need in the modern workplace.
Five remodelled classrooms with new furnishings are among the many upgrades, guaranteeing that students will have a cosy and productive learning environment. The school’s facilities are now more adaptable thanks to a recently built multipurpose hall, which offers room for assemblies, school functions, and other educational activities.
Significant attention has also been paid to staff facilities, with the staffroom and guidance counselor’s office both undergoing extensive renovations to provide educators with professional workspaces. By carefully placing 100 trees throughout the school grounds, the project also shows environmental awareness while enhancing the campus’s overall ambience and providing shade.
Acting Chief Executive Kunle Adedeji of Stanbic IBTC Holdings underlined the company’s dedication to long-term learning. “A vital component of our larger goal to promote sustainable growth and development in Nigeria is the Adopt-A-School program. “We are committed to fostering an atmosphere where kids can grow and learn,” he said.
A rising number of schools in Ogun, Niger, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Sokoto, Borno, and Gombe states have already undergone effective restorations, and this most recent change at Ibeku High School in Umuahia is just the latest. Every project demonstrates Stanbic IBTC’s commitment to promoting academic success and making a long-lasting difference in Nigerian communities.
Prominent dignitaries and community leaders attended the inaugural ceremony, which demonstrated the cooperation between the business sector and local communities in promoting educational growth.
Now, the refurbished Ibeku High School serves as a model for contemporary educational facilities in the area, outfitted to offer top-notch instruction and assist students throughout their academic careers.
Stanbic IBTC continues to show its dedication to community empowerment and sustainable development through these strategic enhancements, establishing new benchmarks for corporate engagement in educational advancement throughout Nigeria.
