Governor Abiodun Celebrates AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina at 65

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), on his 65th birthday. In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Wednesday, Governor Abiodun described Adesina as a visionary economist whose leadership has played a crucial role in shaping Africa’s economic landscape.

“Since assuming office in 2015, Dr. Adesina has steered the AfDB towards transformative growth, making it a beacon of hope for African nations,” the governor remarked. He highlighted how Adesina’s leadership has strengthened the bank’s global reputation and reinforced its commitment to economic empowerment across the continent.

Born on February 6, 1960, Adesina’s distinguished career in economics and development has been defined by his dedication to Africa’s progress. His re-election in 2020 underscores the confidence that member countries have in his vision and ability to drive impactful change.

“Dr. Adesina exemplifies leadership, inspiring excellence and fostering unity among African nations,” Governor Abiodun stated.
