Zenith Bank’s recent innovative move to promote over 4,000 employees and implement compensation increments of 20% to 30% across various staff grades has received praise from the Noble Association of Social and Resourceful Editors (NASRE). The bank was praised by the association for promoting productivity in the Nigerian financial sector and setting a high bar for employee wellbeing.

Comrade Femi Oyewale, the president of NASRE, spoke on behalf of the organisation and characterised Zenith Bank’s actions as an excellent example of corporate responsibility and a reflection of the bank’s dedication to its employees. According to Oyewale, Zenith Bank’s effort to put its workers’ well-being first is evidence of their recognition of how important employee motivation is to providing top-notch customer service.

He also gave the bank high marks for its more comprehensive business plans, which emphasise corporate governance, sustainability, and innovation. “Zenith Bank has continuously shown that financial organisations can accomplish remarkable growth while putting their workers’ welfare first and tackling sustainability issues. Other institutions will surely be motivated to adopt their strategy by this action,” he continued. Additionally, Zenith Bank, led by Managing Director/CEO Dame Adaora Umeoji, has won multiple accolades for its outstanding leadership and performance in the financial industry. These include recognition for its dedication to corporate governance and sustainability, as well as awards for becoming the “Best Bank in Nigeria 2024” by Global Finance and the “Biggest Bank in Nigeria by Tier-1 Capital 2024” by The Banker. Additionally, Comrade Oyewale emphasised the bank’s continuous contributions to technical innovation, SME growth, and economic inclusion, pointing out the beneficial effects these initiatives have on stakeholders and communities alike.
