JAD claims that these people are endangering Nigeria’s democracy and ought to answer for any damage they may have brought to the nation. The JAD voiced worries about the politicians’ history of subverting democracy and their suspected involvement in violent acts in a statement signed by Ambassador Moses Oriri, its president. Oriri charged them with trying to overthrow the government illegally by using anti-democratic tactics, such as instigating violent protests and working with foreign interests.
The organisation notably attacked Nasiru el-Rufai’s reported payment of millions of naira to renegade herders, which resulted in the emergence of kidnapping for ransom and banditry, as well as Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s involvement in the rise of banditry during his time as governor of Sokoto State. “We have since learnt that these failed politicians’ anger was because President Bola Tinubu bravely initiated reforms that are already showing results,” said the statement.
As a result, even if these charlatans unite, they will have no chance in the upcoming general elections, which is why they are using anti-democratic tactics to overthrow the current government. Nigerians are urged by JAD to take heed of the fact that these individuals have previously presided over violent jurisdictions, some of which still show up as the insecurity the nation is currently dealing with.

During his time as governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru el-Rufai made strange payments to renegade herders of his ethnic stock, which led to the emergence of kidnapping for ransom. This situation let criminals realise that they could kidnap Nigerians for financial gain, which eventually led to banditry.
“It is impossible to separate Rotimi Amaechi’s time as Rivers State governor with the arming of terrorists who subsequently destroyed the country’s oil infrastructure, which is currently only being restored. To support their attempt to topple the government, they intend to reproduce this failed state situation nationally. “We have also observed in the past how individuals like as Atiku and Obi have stoked public discontent with the administration, and they would persist in doing so regardless of the person holding the position of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Such provocation includes covertly supporting uprisings in the name of citizen protests in an attempt to topple the current administration and usher in a transitional or temporary administration that is incompatible with the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s modified Constitution.
“We are further concerned that given utterances from the recent meeting at which these people alluded to a ‘weak government’, their series of recent clandestine meetings with foreign interests, the incitement of citizens to engage in violent protests, desperate attempts to cobble together an alliance that is doomed to fail, and baseless attacks on the government, this collection of politicians are up to mischief that could undermine Nigeria’s democracy.”
JAD called on the authorities to take strong measures against any attempts to undermine the nation and to put the participants on a watchlist, especially Nasir el-Rufai. The organisation highlighted that rather than merely making pronouncements, the situation calls for the application of the law.
