MATAWALLE URGES PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU TO PAY PENSIONS AND OTHER MILITARY ENTITLEMENTS PROMPTLY

H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has been thanked by the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, H.E. Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON, for his decisive action in ensuring the timely payment of the military salary increase with three months’ arrears and for today’s release of funds for the payment of retired military personnel’s pension and other owed entitlements. Dr. Matawalle acknowledged that military troops are starting to receive notices about the three-month pay hike.

The Minister stressed that the payment of pension arrears owing to retirees will continue to receive crucial attention and praised President Tinubu for his continuous commitment to the welfare of both active and retired military personnel. The President’s commitment to raising the standard of living for those who have served the country is demonstrated by this program.

The Hon. Minister also praised the work and assistance of Mr. Wale Edun, the Hon. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, who was instrumental in making these payments a reality. Assuring the Nigerian military that President Tinubu is totally dedicated to raising their morale and giving them the assistance they need to fight insecurity in Nigeria, Dr. Matawalle urged them to continue doing their jobs with unwavering determination.

“You can be confident that Mr. President will do everything in his power to support our military forces as they face the challenges of insecurity, even in the face of initial setbacks,” he said. The Minister reaffirmed the critical role that these courageous men and women play in maintaining the security of the country while highlighting the noteworthy achievements made by the Nigerian military in the fight against terrorism, insurgency, and other types of criminality.
