In keeping with Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s continuing infrastructure revolution, the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has authorised Paul-B Nig Ltd’s N2.1 billion road building project for the Trans-Nkisi Boulevard 1 route, GRA Onitsha.

The project, which will be completed in six months, is based on the strategic road selection meant to improve connectivity between communities and the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State and to fortify its foundation as a livable and prosperous mega-city, according to Hon. Commissioner for Information Law Mefor PhD.
Adding that N7.5 billion has also been made available to build the 8.906-kilometer Nanka-Aguluzigbo-Umuona route, which is vulnerable to erosion and floods. According to him, IDC Construction Company has been given the contract, which has a 12-month completion period. Other projects include the 16.37-kilometer Mbaukwu-Awgbu-Amaetiti-Okpaeze road, which will be completed in 18 months and has a 22-meter, one-span bridge.
Cossel Construction Ltd was awarded the project for N10.95 billion. The 4.56-kilometer Azigbo-Awka Etiti-Amichi-Onuselogu route, which would pass through the three local governments of Nnewi South, Idemili South, and Nnewi North and include a spur to Diocesan Hospital Amichi, was approved for construction and is expected to be finished in eight months. The Nteje-Otuocha route will also be built, while the 3.57 km Igboukwu-Amichi-Ekwulummili route, which will span the local governments of Aguata and Nnewi South, is expected to be finished in six months.
The 19.1 km Awkuzu-Igbariam-Anaku rink Road, the Aguleri Uno to Aguleri Otu road, the crucial seven roads in Omagba, Onitsha, and the repair of the 1.6 km New Market Road, Onitsha, are additional roads slated for rehabilitation.
According to the statement, ANSEC approved the construction of 22 Smart Schools throughout the 21 LGAs in the field of education, while a contract was awarded for the supply and installation of furniture and equipment at the Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi.
