The judges for the 2024 Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards, which honor and promote outstanding journalism in Nigeria, have been announced by Nestlé Nigeria.

Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards, now in their fourth year, honor and reward media practitioners who adeptly draw attention to important issues pertaining to socioeconomic development, environmental sustainability, and nutrition security.
Among the judges were Dr. Chioma Emma-Nwachukwu, Programs Lead, Lagos Chapter, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, who is well-known for her work in public health and nutrition; Rosemary Otalor, Account Director, APO Group, who has a wealth of media relations and communications experience; Dr. Sunday John, Senior Lecturer, School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University, who is an expert in journalism and media studies; Oreva Atanya, Director, LBS Sustainability Center, Pan-Atlantic University, who is well-known for her contributions to sustainability and CSR; and Victoria Uwadoka, who has won awards in her roles as Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria.
“We are pleased to have such a distinguished panel of judges for this year’s Nestlé Media Awards,” stated Victoria Uwadoka. We rely on their knowledge of journalism, media studies, sustainability, and nutrition to add new insight to this year’s prizes. Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards are part of our strategic commitment to enable the media to fulfill their role of providing fact-based reporting to improve our nutrition and behavioral choices, in keeping with our mission to unleash the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone today and for generations to come.
This year’s contributions will be evaluated according to how well they fit into the following major theme areas: Community Development, Finance and Agriculture, Youth Empowerment and Development, Women’s Empowerment, Nutrition and Affordable Food Solutions, and Environmental Sustainability.
Accuracy, creativity, impact, balance, depth, and adherence to ethical norms will also be evaluated for entries. Talented journalists from all throughout the country submitted 285 items in response to the call for entries, which ended on November 8. The most remarkable and influential stories will be honored at a distinguished ceremony in December, where the winners will be revealed.
