The Lagos State House of Assembly’s members voted in favor of Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa on Monday, expressing their continued satisfaction with his leadership of the body.

The parliamentarians praised the Speaker for enhancing the nation’s democracy by passing legislation that benefit the people, and the vote of confidence was held on his 52nd birthday. “I stand this afternoon to propose that the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa be given a vote of confidence so that he can carry on with his excellent job, particularly in this 10th Assembly.
It is noteworthy that the Speaker has always gotten the full support of his fellow members while making decisions in the House. Majorit Leader Noheem Adams brought up the point during a plenary led by Deputy Speaker Mojisola Lasbat Meranda: “He consults the members and gets their opinions.” After extensive consultation, Hon. Adams made his proposal, which was backed by Hon. Sa’ad Olumoh (Ajeromi-Ifelodun

In support of the proposal, Deputy Majority Leader Adedamola Richard Kasunmu stated: “Passing a vote of confidence on the Speaker is the best way to demonstrate our complete confidence in his leadership.” The MPs honored the Speaker for his powerful leadership as part of the birthday celebration. “I commend my Speaker and acknowledge his influential leadership. “I wish him a happy birthday on behalf of my constituents in Eti-Osa,” stated Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu (Eti-Osa
2). Hon. Nureni Akinsanya, on his part, praised Dr. Obasa for his commitment to his convictions. Obasa is always there for you, regardless of the situation. I want Allah Ta’ala to bless him and his family and to give him more wisdom. I hope he has no regrets in life. “I hope the best for him,” he said. In his birthday greetings, Hon. Aro Moshood praised Speaker Obasa’s commitment to public service and his crucial role in forming Lagos and Nigeria.
