In response to an internet article that was disparaging the kingdom’s traditional ruler, Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom stated that “it was published with the intent to tarnish the reputation of His Majesty, the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom.”

The publication claims that thirty years prior to his coronation, the aforementioned monarch was convicted of a crime abroad involving the theft of $300 laptops, petitioned for land grabs, armed death squads, and kidnapping.
The Obi of Ogwashi-Uku was pursuing a master’s degree in business management at the University of Edinburgh at the time of the purported incident, according to Palace officials.
“This malicious story is part of an ongoing campaign against His Majesty and his family, launched by individuals seeking to disrupt the peace and integrity of the Ogwashi-Uku community,” the Palace Secretary, Prince Ifeakanachukwu Emordi, quickly responded in a statement.
“The recent story was sponsored by Barrister Mayor Okolie, Elumunor Adigwe, who is facing criminal charges in the Federal High Court in Asaba for terrorism, causing intercommunal war, levying war on a traditional ruler, attempted murder, and destruction of police and vigilante vehicles, stemming from his October 2023 attack against His Majesty,” the statement went on.
They also had charge number FHC/ASB/18C/2024. “The other sponsors of this defamatory campaign, such as Ugo Emordi, are also facing charges related to murder, arson, and rape at the Delta State High Courts,” the statement continued.
With a doctorate in history and economics, the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku is a well-respected and highly educated monarch who is putting out great effort to combat powerful forces that are determined to seize control of the kingdom’s resources and sow chaos.
“The story’s accusations are completely untrue, and we plan to take the necessary legal steps to correct this disinformation. As stated in the writers’ declarations, His Majesty, the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, maintains his dedication to openness and legality and welcomes any probe by any investigative agency,” the statement said.
It is instructive that even Donald Trump, who was elected president of the United States by a landslide on this day, June 11, 2024, despite allegations of criminal convictions, will continue to improve the lives of his subjects in spite of these stories.
