The development and accomplishments of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) have been praised by the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, which has pledged to provide the agency with all necessary support.

On Tuesday, the Committee members, who were on an oversight visit, met with FIRS management at the Revenue House in Abuja. They also took a tour of the agency’s permanent headquarters, which is now being built in the Central Business District. According to a statement from the FIRS chairman’s special adviser on media, Dare Adekanmbi, the MPs were shown around the 17-story building by Mr. Kunle Ogidi, the special adviser on infrastructure.
The Committee’s chairman, Hon. James Faleke, pledged the Committee’s continuing support for the agency’s objectives and expressed pleasure with the changes made to FIRS under Chairman Zacch Adedeji and the increased tax collection.We can only praise the FIRS management and employees, as well as the contractors, for a job well done.
