CAMA 2024’S SPIRITUAL FATHER IS DR. DANIEL KOLAWOLE OLUKOYA, GENERAL OVERSEER MFM WORLDWIDE

Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, is a distinguished scientist, youth enthusiast, and preacher who has been selected as the Spiritual Father for the Classic Africa Merit Award, CAMA 2024. The Classic Africa Merit Award will take place at the upscale Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos State, on November 17, 2024. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Olukoya, a retired police officer and small shopkeeper, respectively, were the parents of Olukoya more than 60 years ago. He was the top student in his class at Methodist Boys High School in Lagos, where he graduated with Grade One honors. He continued on to the esteemed University of Lagos (UNILAG) in pursuit of higher education, where he studied Micro-Biology and earned the first honors degree from the science department since the university’s founding in 1962.Following two years of teaching, Dr. Olukoya worked as a research assistant at the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) in Yaba, Lagos, before pursuing a PhD in molecular genetics at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom on a Commonwealth scholarship. Despite the complexity of the subject, it is important to note that Dr. Olukoya completed his Ph.D. in record time and became the first Nigerian to do so. Dr. Olukoya is the first Nigerian scientist to clone genes and the first to set up an indigenous molecular biology and biotechnology facility. Additionally, he has mentored more than thirty Ph.D. students, the majority of whom are currently succeeding in their chosen professions. The development of a novel variety of ogi (pap) called DOGIK, a weaning food with enhanced nutritional properties and the ability to manage diarrhea, was one of Dr. Olukoya’s significant contributions to biotechnology and health delivery. He has more than 80 scientific articles to his name as a researcher. After finishing his doctoral program, Dr. Olukoya returned to Nigeria and continued to worship the Almighty God. He gave seminars, preached, and sang, among other things, until God gave him the idea and blueprint for the Mountain Of Fire and Miracles Ministries, which began in October 1989 with 24 people in his sitting room in Yaba, Lagos. MFM has seen a considerable demographic shift since God, through Dr. D. K. Olukoya, established this church. In addition to thousands of branches in Africa, Asia, and Europe, the Church also has a significant number of branches in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. With more than 120,000 people attending single meetings, MFM, which is renowned for its distinctive and potent prayer style, has engulfed the country like a colossus in its 20 years of existence. The church’s headquarters is the largest congregation in Africa. The MFM is a ministry dedicated to the restoration of apostolic signs, miracles, Holy Ghost-fire deeds, and the unparalleled manifestation of God’s power to deliver to the fullest. It is publicly taught that complete holiness, both inside and out, is a spiritual pesticide and a requirement for heaven. Dr. Olukoya is a divinely anointed prophet, evangelist, teacher, and speaker of the Bible. In addition to his scholarly writings, Dr. Olukoya is the author of more than 250 spiritual books, the majority of which are best-sellers. The most notable of these is the PRAYER RAIN, a prayer guide utilized by Christians of many denominations. Millions of copies of this book have been sold. In addition, Dr. Olukoya is credited with writing more than 70 Christian songs. Since 2007, Dr. D. K. Olukoya has organized an annual football competition called the Dr. D.K. Olukoya International Youth Football Event, which unites young people from MFM congregations throughout Africa. The current assistant coach, Nduka Ugbade, was one of three players from the D.K.O. competition that played for the Golden Eaglets when they won the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in Doha, United Arab Emirates, in 2013. MFM became the world’s finest football-playing church in 2014 after representing Nigeria in the inaugural Church World Cup in Goa, India. In 2015, MFM became the first Nigerian church to be promoted to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League. The Lagos challenge cup champions are MFM FC. In partnership with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, he sponsors the yearly Dr. D. K. Olukoya national U-18 Athletics tournament, which is where long jump queen and Commonwealth Gold medalist Ese Brume was discovered in 2013. sponsored Odunayo Adekuoroye, the gold medallist in Commonwealth wrestling, to attend the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Odunayo and Brume both competed for Nigeria at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Players for every Nigerian national football team have come from MFM. Every year, Dr. Olukoya supports a table tennis and basketball tournament.
