Dino Melaye was suspended by the PDP executive committee in Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1, due to purported anti-party activity and misconduct. The suspension is documented in a letter signed by Ward Chairman Abayomi Osamika and Ward Secretary Yodson Dayo.

The correspondence states: “The Ward Party Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ayetoro/Iluagba Ward 1 convened on Friday, September 12, 2024, to evaluate the findings of the disciplinary committee established to examine purported anti-party activities involving Senator Dino Melaye, a member of our esteemed party.” “Nevertheless, he neglected to attend, dismissing both the invitation and the party’s authority.”

“After careful consideration and deliberation, the Ward Party Exco resolved as follows: That Senator Dino Melaye’s failure to appear before the Disciplinary Committee constitutes a gross disrespect to the party and its leadership.”

“His actions constitute a blatant infringement of the PDP Constitution and the tenets of party discipline.” “Senator Dino Melaye’s behaviour has caused embarrassment and disrepute to the party, rendering his continued membership untenable.”

“Therefore, the Ward Party Exco hereby suspends Senator Dino Melaye from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately.” “The suspension is in line with provisions of Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution which empowers the Ward party excos to take disciplinary actions against erring members.”
