Mr James Sule, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Police Affairs, has established a Delivery Task Team to monitor the implementation of Presidential Priorities and Ministerial Deliverables in the Ministry and its agencies, according to a statement signed by Deputy Director (Information & Public Relations), Mr Bolaji Kazeem, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).

According to the statement, the Ministerial Delivery Task Team, which includes desk officers and representatives from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), Ministry, and Police Academy, was inaugurated by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
The Permanent Secretary emphasised that the primary duty of Delivery Officers and members of the Ministerial Delivery Task Team is to collect, analyse, and report data on Ministerial Deliverables to the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU).
He added that the goal is to ensure a holistic approach to the Performance Management System, enhance Desk Officers’ capacity for efficient and effective service delivery, and harness and mobilise efforts to generate concrete and reliable data on how their Departments/Organizations contribute to the Ministry’s delivery outcomes.

The Permanent Secretary noted that as major participants in the Nation’s internal security operation, the ultimate goal is to highlight how far the country has maintained good practices while also identifying growing shortcomings and efforts being made to address them. He directed that all Departments and Agencies submit their quarterly reports to the Planning, Research, and Statistics Department on time, as well as comprehensive quarterly reports to the CDCU Office, which is led by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination. Mr. Esege E. Esege, Coordinator of the Central Delivery Coordination Unit, stated that the CDCU’s functions include coordinating the process of identifying Presidential Priorities and setting targets in consultation with Ministries, as well as ensuring that resources and efforts are focused on delivering agreed-upon priorities.
“The Unit raises awareness of the Presidential Priorities among individuals and citizen-based organisations (in collaboration with the Open Government Partnership).
It also tracks and provides validated quarterly reports to the President on the implementation of the priority policies, programs, and projects, working with the Ministries, citizens, and development partners,” he stated.
