This call follows the acrimonious and contentious Benue State Congress, which was called off. In order to maintain the party’s cohesion and advancement, Mr. Obeya asks that Dr. Agbo be removed, claiming that he was a major contributor to the disastrous Congress.

“Our party in Benue State has suffered irreversible harm as a result of Dr. Agbo’s actions,” Mr. Obeya declared. “His removal is required to ensure that our party stays strong and united and to prevent further divisions.” Like his predecessor, Hon. Cid Madugbuna, who was viewed as a puppet of former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Mr. Obeya voiced fear that Dr. Agbo would turn into a tool to further the personal interests of Governor Bala Mohammed. Obeya declared, “The PDP cannot afford to have a Director General who exclusively represents the interests of one governor.”

“We need leadership that puts the party’s unity and advancement ahead of individual interests.” Obeya urged party chiefs to take steps to guarantee that the PDP Governors’ Forum stays impartial and advances the party’s goals rather than being utilised to forward individual agendas.
