Governor Seyi Makinde’s comprehensive approach to education in the state is being furthered by this, according to Dr. Sola Akande, the Executive Secretary of the Agency. During a courtesy call with Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, on Wednesday, Akande disclosed this information.
“This visit is highly timely as the Agency is ready to embark on the enrollment and validation of 10,000 pupils who will benefit from the Oyo State health insurance policy,” stated Dr. Akande in his speech. Dr. Akande insisted that the Agency’s insurance scheme will have a significant positive impact on the students.
The Chairman of OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, responded by assuring the Board that the enrollment process would be taken seriously. According to Adeniran, this will be the first of its kind in the nation and serve as a template for future initiatives in other southwest states.
A committee consisting of six members was established by Dr. Adeniran to expedite steps on the policy and hash out implementation procedures between the two agencies. He also mentioned that when classes resume in September, the insurance policy will be switched off.
