In an effort to strengthen the post-primary education sector, the Oyo State Government has authorized the hiring of 7,500 teachers and 3,000 non-teaching staff for the state teaching service.
In Ibadan on Friday, Pastor Akinade Alamu, the Chairman of the Oyo State Post-Primary Teaching Service Commission, or TESCOM, said this. Remember that in 2021 the Commission, on behalf of the Oyo State government, hired over 5,000 teachers throughout the State. He claimed that the World Bank Global Partnership on Education and other Oyo State stakeholders had praised the recruitment process at the time.

According to Pastor Akinade Alamu, the current Oyo State administration would keep placing a high priority on public employment and education. According to the Chairman, qualified applicants may apply for a two-week period via the website tescom.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng.
In addition to the other prerequisites, Pastor Alamu encouraged applicants to make sure they had a working phone number, email address, and National Identification Number. In order to improve the quality of education, he stated that hiring new teachers will be done on the basis of merit.
He encouraged all eligible applicants—including those who are physically challenged—to accept the offer.
He contends that merit-based hiring is essential to high-quality education, which is why it’s important to carefully follow the portal’s stated rules. Each applicant is entitled to either the teaching or non-teaching category, thus he cautioned applicants against applying for both at the same time.
The Chairman announced that the online application, CBT test, and oral interview are the processes in the employment exercise.

“Oyo State government’s huge investment in the education sector is yielding positive results as our students are doing well on all fronts. Therefore, the government is set to recruit more teachers, in addition to those on ground”, he said.
According to the chairman, an interministerial committee overseeing the hiring process will guarantee a smooth process. In keeping with the World Bank Global Partnership on Education’s goal, he emphasized that the exercise is free of cost and assured the public of another transparent and reputable one (GPE).
The recruitment is intended to strengthen the teaching and non-teaching sectors of the state’s secondary education, according to a statement made earlier by Mr. Haroon Lawal, Permanent Secretary of TESCOM.
